Senator Ned Nwoko has said he pities men who have only one wife, adding that polygamy gives men stability and balance in their homes. The lawmaker representing Delta North made the statement yesterday while appearing in a television interview.
Nwoko who insisted that he has no regrets about his own marriages, argued that managing more than one wife is the ideal marital structure for men. When asked about the argument that the Bible does not support polygamy, Nwoko responded, “The Old Testament does. I am a man of faith. But that’s not what we are here for.”
He also said he had no regrets about his marital choices. “No, I don’t have any regret. I will do the same thing again. Of course, that’s the way it should be. You should marry who you want to marry,” he said.
On allegations of domestic violence in his home, the senator denied them. “No, come on. You know I am not a violent person. I respect my wives. I love them and my kids,” he added.
