Labour Party chieftain and former vice-presidential candidate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed has raised concerns about the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and its readiness to field a strong candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking on the emerging ADC coalition, which is being closely watched as a potential platform to challenge President Bola Tinubu’s administration, Baba-Ahmed said the party lacks leaders with the political experience and influence of Tinubu or the late President Muhammadu Buhari.
He also warned that internal disagreements could emerge depending on who secures the party’s presidential ticket.
The ADC coalition, which brings together several opposition figures and parties, including former governors Nasir El-Rufai, Peter Obi, Rotimi Amaechi and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, is positioning itself as a potential contender in the 2027 elections.
