The General Officer Commanding, 8 Division of the Nigerian Army, Sokoto, Major General Ibikunle Ajose, has assured Nigerians of a peaceful atmosphere during the forthcoming Christmas celebrations. He stated this during a colourful Christmas Carol of Nine Lessons held by the Division on Thursday night.
The GOC, who is also Commander Sector 2 Joint Task Force (North West) Operation FANSAN YAMMA, said that the carol was not just a celebration of faith but a reminder of the Army’s resolve to protect residents throughout the yuletide. The carol, drew officers, soldiers, families, security agencies and members of the host community into an evening of music, worship and renewed hope.
However, extending warm Christmas greetings, the GOC praised troops for their sacrifices in sustaining peace across the division’s area of responsibility.
