The Bauchi State Government has named new governing council leadership and members of the state-owned university, Sa’adu Zungur University.
According to a press release issued today by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Governor Bala Muhammed, Mukhtar Gidado, the reconstitution became necessary following the submission of the report of the Visitation Panel set up to assess the state of affairs at the university.
The statement maintained that Governor Mohammed graciously approved the reconstitution of the Governing Council of the institution explaining that the reconstitution of the Council is in line with the administration’s unwavering commitment to repositioning the university for academic excellence, improved governance, and sustainable development.Gidado however revealed that Governor Mohammed urged the new leadership of the governing council to work in collaboration with the university management and all stakeholders to reposition Sa’adu Zungur University, Gadau, as a centre of excellence and innovation in tertiary education.
