President Bola Tinubu’s ambassadorial nominees have arrived at the Senate ahead of their screening today. Some of the ambassador designates that were spotted at the National Assembly include former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode; former presidential spokesperson Reno Omokri and former Enugu state governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, also spotted was former Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau.
This comes amid a call from former Senate Leader, Ali Ndume, for Tinubu to withdraw his list of nominees. Ndume insisted that the composition of the nominees violates the Federal Character principle as mandated by the Nigerian Constitution.
According to him, several states were either underrepresented or completely excluded, while some states had multiple nominees.
