Gunmen, intercepted a commercial bus along Eke axis within Okpokwu Local Government Area of Benue State and abducted an unspecified number of passengers on board. The incident according to a source from the community, occurred around 6:30 pm on Sunday when the gunmen intercepted the vehicle, robbed the passengers and later whisked them away.
The state command spokesperson, Udeme Edet on Monday confirmed the attack on a Hummer bus conveying passangers, saying that the command received information on the abducted passengers and added that the combined security operatives were combing the bush to rescue the kidnapped victims.
However, police tactical teams, military, Benue State Protection Guard, and additional reinforcement has been sent to locate other passengers as soon as possible.
