The Kano Electricity Distribution Company has announced the successful commencement of 10 Megawatt energy offtake of solar power from the Haske Solar Plant, located within the Challawa Industrial Cluster, Kano.
This announcement was contained in a statement by the KEDCO’s Head, Corporate Communications Unit, Sani Bala Sani, following the signing of a Power Purchase Agreement with Haske Solar Company Ltd, built by the Federal Government through the Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority, to solidify the already operational 10 Megawatt solar power plant, commissioned in January, 2023.
Also, the MD/CEO of KEDCO, Dr Abubakar Shuaibu Jimeta, and the Executive Director, Portfolio Management, Mr. Tajudeen Datti Ahmed, signed the agreement in Abuja, recently, and this signing was witnessed by the Managing Director of Future Energies Africa, Yusuf Yahaya.
