Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan have parted company with head coach Gbenga Ogunbote and the entire management staff of the club. The Oyo-based outfit had finished the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League season in eighth position, having managed 15 wins, 9 draws, and 14 defeats in 38 matches.

Their underwhelming performance has now prompted the club’s hierarchy, led by chairman Lekan Salami, to part ways with the experienced Ogunbote, the entire coaching crew and General Manager Dimeji Lawal with immediate effect.

Prior to his departure, Ogunbote had been at the helm of the Oluyole Warriors for two years and 11 months, which he had rejoined in August 2022 for the third time. Also, former player Dimeji Lawal, who served as general manager of the team, has been relieved of his duties ahead of the 2025/26 season. Former coach Edith Agoye is being touted to make another return to the club to take over the reins.
