President Bola Tinubu has urged the traditional institution in Nasarawa State to continue to work towards promoting peace and unity among the diverse socio-cultural groups across its 13 Local Government Areas in order to ensure the rapid growth and development of the state.
Tinubu gave the charge in Lafia, the state capital on Saturday during the turbaning ceremony of the Senator representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, as the Magajin Dangin of Lafian Bare-bari, by the Lafia Emirate Council.
The president who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume noted that it was important for the residents of the state to continue to live in peace and harmony to enable them continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy in their various towns and communities.
He however urged Senator Wadada to leverage on his new traditional title as the Magajin Dangin of Lafian Bare-bari to work towards peace-building in the Lafia Emirate and across other traditional institutions for the sustainable development of the state.
