President Tinubu suspended an incumbent governor, a move that was widely condemned.
However, what about Governor Fubara, who effectively suspended the State House of Assembly for over a year? He governed without a properly constituted legislature. What do we call that?
Not many people criticized him when he demolished the Assembly complex, depriving 27 constituencies in Rivers State of representation. Yet, when the President suspended the governor, there was an uproar.
I am neither for the President nor for Fubara. But if one is wrong, then the other is wrong as well—and if one is right, so is the other.
That’s my take.
